In our opinion, get a second opinion & more

July 27

A diagnosis with prostate cancer isn’t always a slam-dunk. Should you consider expert second opinions on your pathology and even MRIs before being rushed into aggressive treatment for prostate cancer? About 25% of biopsies and MRI reads are wrong. An expert second opinion could result in a downgrade and peace of mind. It can go the other way of course. Once you’re diagnosed, second opinions don’t end there. You can get second opinions on management of your cancer as well. Should it be active surveillance, radiation, or surgery?

ASPI is holding its annual open patient forum which will feature prostate cancer patients ASPI co-founders Howard Wolinsky, a 14-year veteran of AS, and Jim Schraidt. Also sharing stories will be newly diagnosed patients Charles Brown III and Keith Day who will discuss how second opinions improved their diagnoses and changed the course of managing their prostate cancer.

Come hear and share stories about game-changing second opinions.
